THE MACALLAN 1971 24 year old Samaroli bottling 43% abv 700ml
An extremely Rare Limited Edition
In 1968 the legendary Silvano Samaroli (deceased 2017), established his business to bottle some of the finest Scotch whiskies under his own Label.
This very special Macallan Speyside Single Malt Scotch whisky, distilled in 1971, was a very early special bottling, commissioned by and specifically for Samaroli. It was left to slumber, (“slowly reduced, not chilled and charcoal filtered”) and mature in two Sherry casks (numbers 16 & 17) for 24 years at the Macallan distillery before bottling in 1995.
The expression is a testament to Samaroli’s vision in selecting only the finest whisky and Macallan’s superb distillation process & dedicated care in whisky maturation in Sherry casks. From these two casks a limited number of bottles (total 540) were issued under the Samaroli label.
This splendid and very rare bottle, No 411, is with the equally rare original, ribbon tied, green hard box – and all are in excellent condition, except for some age spots on the labels. The back label has a replica of the signature of Silvano S. Samaroli which is symbolic of his earliest bottlings.
Incredibly difficult to source, Limited Edition bottle, BTG No. 411 of 540 is undoubtedly a gem for any collection.
